Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using WattWorks (wattworks.bike), operated by K&L Engineering LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use WattWorks.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use WattWorks. By using the service, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms.

Description of Service

WattWorks is a free e-bike parts database and build configurator. It provides:

• A searchable database of e-bike components with specifications
• Price comparisons from third-party online retailers
• An automated compatibility checking tool
• A build planner for saving and sharing component selections

WattWorks is not a store. We do not sell, fulfill, ship, or take payment for any products. All purchases are made directly through third-party retailers, and those transactions are governed by the retailer's own terms and policies.

Account Registration

You may use WattWorks without an account. Creating an account requires signing in with Google. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account. You agree not to share your account or allow others to access WattWorks through your account.

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings, which will permanently remove your profile and saved builds.

User Content

"User Content" includes any builds, reviews, comments, images, or other content you create or submit on WattWorks.

You retain ownership of your User Content. However, by submitting User Content to WattWorks, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute your User Content in connection with operating and promoting WattWorks.

You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to submit your User Content, and that it does not infringe on the intellectual property or other rights of any third party.

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or data mining software to access, collect, or extract data from WattWorks without our written permission
• Republish, redistribute, or commercially exploit WattWorks data, prices, specifications, or compatibility results without written permission
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of WattWorks
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Interfere with or disrupt the service, servers, or networks connected to WattWorks
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with affiliate tracking parameters in product links
• Use WattWorks for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent content including fake reviews

Pricing & Availability

Prices displayed on WattWorks are sourced from third-party retailers and are provided for reference only. Prices may be inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete. Product availability, shipping costs, and final prices may differ from what is shown on WattWorks.

Always verify the current price and availability directly with the retailer before making a purchase.

Compatibility Guidance

WattWorks provides automated compatibility checks as an informational tool. These checks are based on specifications in our database and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. Compatibility results are not a guarantee that components will work together safely or as expected.

E-bike builds involve electrical systems, including high-voltage batteries and motor controllers. Improper component selection or installation can result in damage, injury, or fire. WattWorks is not a substitute for professional advice from a qualified e-bike technician or electrical engineer.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT: (A) THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE; (B) PRICING INFORMATION WILL BE ACCURATE OR CURRENT; (C) COMPATIBILITY CHECKS WILL BE COMPLETE OR CORRECT; (D) COMPONENT SPECIFICATIONS WILL BE ACCURATE; OR (E) ANY DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, K&L ENGINEERING LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

• Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) WattWorks
• Any purchasing decisions made based on information displayed on WattWorks
• Any compatibility guidance or recommendations provided by WattWorks
• Any conduct or content of third parties, including retailers linked from WattWorks
• Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data

THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF K&L ENGINEERING LLC TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF WATTWORKS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless K&L Engineering LLC and its officers, members, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of WattWorks; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your User Content; or (d) your violation of any rights of another party.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in the State of Maryland, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in such courts.

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Your continued use of WattWorks after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms. If you disagree with any changes, you should stop using WattWorks and delete your account.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to WattWorks at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use WattWorks will immediately cease. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
