The Bafang M500 (G520) is a CAN-bus torque-sensing OEM mid-drive for eTrekking and eCity bikes. Rated 250W with 95 Nm of torque, it combines a speed and torque sensor, runs 36–48V, and weighs ~3.2 kg. It communicates over the Bafang CAN protocol via a triangle connector and is NOT compatible with UART BBS displays. IP65. Crank interface is a Bafang proprietary spline (NOT ISIS) on a 104 BCD 4-bolt spider accepting 32–40T chainrings; it requires a purpose-built frame with motor mounting tabs and is not retrofittable to a standard BB-shell bike.
